Vier Nederlandse sporters met een verstandelijke beperking worden gevolgd in aanloop naar en tijdens de Special Olympics World Games in Turijn.

Voor langlaufer Dave van de Louw, alpine skister Enikö Smulders, shorttrack schaatsster Yara van Drunen Littel en snowboarder Luke Ruijter zijn de Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 in Turijn een hoogtepunt in hun leven.

Duizenden atleten met een verstandelijke beperking uit meer dan honderd landen nemen het tegen elkaar op in acht takken van sport. Dave, Enikö, Yara en Luke zijn vier van de twintig Nederlandse sporters die zich hebben geplaatst.

De Special Olympics World Games zijn de Olympische Spelen voor sporters met een verstandelijke beperking. Er zijn een zomer- en een wintereditie, die beide om de vier jaar plaatsvinden.

It is estimated that more than 3.4 million children live on the streets in Bangladesh. These children represent the absolute lowest level in the social hierarchy. Against all odds everyday a small group of people goes out on the streets to give them a helping hand. This film provides a unique inside look in the world and the minds of children living on the streets of Dhaka and the rescue system that the social workers have in place to get those children off the streets.

Zodoende vormt het een plek waar mensen met en zonder handicap van over de hele wereld elkaar ontmoeten en vooroordelen overwinnen door middel van de kracht van sport.

Kampala Cycling Couriers is a documentary film about one of the first bike messenger services in Eastern Africa. The film captures the start up of Kampala Cycling Couriers. Experienced Dutch bike courier Joeri Scholte supports the organization to set up the organizational structure and to build up the business.

The couriers are cyclists from Kampala Cycling Club and real passionate about the cycling sport. In the start up of Kampala Cycling Couriers they develop a daily routine, administer their rides and maintain their equipment. Their working environment is the challenging city of Kampala that, due to the explosive population growth, is overcrowded and a dangerous place to cycle.

Coco Cabasa is a documentary that tells the story of the fierce Kaouthar Darmoni. Who is she and how did she become this person? We explore her roots in Tunisia to find what's at the core of her motivation. Her suppressed life as a youngster in Sousse is one of the reasons she began her mission: to empower and heal women from all over the world using her Goddess Bellydance method. Selected for the IDFA documentary festival in 2016 (5 screenings).

Dutch boxing teacher Sharita, "a white lady", left for South Africa to give a boxing course in the prison where Nelson Mandela spent his last days behind bars. His philosophy was to give chances to inmates so they can work on things like sports and school to develop their skills in the life after their sentence. During the course Sharita trains two new boxing teachers, who will continue the lessons. The prisoners learn that boxing is about discipline, a skill so very hard needed when outside.
